The NFL’s owners met earlier this month to discuss how they should handle the continuing protests of the league’s players during the playing of the national anthem. The two-day meetings, which included a session attended by owners and a group of players, ended without the league enacting a mandate that players stand for the anthem.

Roger Goodell's Letter to NFL Team About Protests

NFL

The NFL's national anthem protests have persisted, and NFL owners are becoming antsy. Between a continuous quarrel with President Donald Trump and an ever increasing number of fans standing in opposition to the dissension that has occurred, the NFL has been put in a peculiar position. On Tuesday, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell sent a letter out to NFL execs, advising them on the protest controversy. ESPN's Adam Schefter posted a full copy of the letter that ESPN obtained.

Colts Jacoby Brissett Tries to Break Free - Cardinals Colts

Indianapolis Colts

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (12) is sacked by Atlanta Falcons outside linebacker De'Vondre Campbell (59) and defensive end Brooks Reed (50) in the second quarter at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Green Bay Packers

Matt Ryan throwing daggers. Julio Jones slicing through the secondary. Devonta Freeman slashing to paydirt. Vic Beasley bringing the heat. Matt Bryant good from long distance.

Yes, the Atlanta Falcons may have christened the sparkling Mercedes-Benz Stadium as their new home on Sunday night, but apparently it is business as usual in some regards.

After sputtering in the season-opening win at Chicago (just 23 points and 372 yards of offense), the Falcons (2-0) came home to squash some anxiety with a 34-23 statement against the Green Bay Packers.

That was hardly the case for Aaron Rodgers, the Packers’ wondrous quarterback, who was treated just as rudely at the new digs as he was at the Georgia Dome the last time in town.
